90% Wool (RWS)

Wool is a natural fibre that is obtained from sheep and other animals. Wool is best known for its warming properties when it’s cold, but it is also temperature-regulating to stay cool when it’s warm.

10% Cashmere (Recycled)

Cashmere comes from the soft undercoat of cashmere goats. The cashmere fibres are six times finer than human hair, giving it a signature soft and luxurious feel. The goats are primarily found in the high plateaus and mountains of Central and South Asia. Cashmere goats are often considered harder on land compared to some other types of goats due to their foraging habits and the challenging environments in which they are typically raised.

RWS (Responsible Wool Standard) focuses on animal welfare, labour rights for workers and land management to maintain healthy soil.

Material certifications give us confidence that the fabrics we use are fully traceable, and come from origins that have high welfare and social standards. They ensure that the full supply chain handles the certified material in a separate process from the conventional material, and that the products are produced according to the certification’s standards.

6. CARE

Treating your clothing with care is essential to ensuring it lasts in your wardrobe for years. Follow this care guide to get the most use possible from your garment.

Care Instructions:

• Being thoughtful about the ways you wash and dry clothing is an easy step towards reducing energy, water and chemical use, as well as prolonging the life of your garments.

Washing & Drying:

• Do not wash more than is necessary
• Handwash cold
• Wash inside out with similar colours
• Reshape while damp
• Flat dry
• Dry clean using PCE only
• Iron (Low heat)

What To Avoid:

• Do not bleach
• Do not tumble dry

Storing & Maintaining:

• Lay your sweaters flat to dry, and store by folding and stacking neatly. This helps to avoid stretching and sleeve marks.

• Many natural fibres, particularly in knitwear, will start to pill over time. This is a normal process and can be easily removed by hand or with a device.

7. REPAIR

Rather than discarding clothes that are worn or damaged, look for opportunities to repair them and prolong the life of your garments.

By finding a trustworthy tailor, you can have your garment repaired to extend its life and ensure it always fits you perfectly. Get in touch with our team for advice on finding a good tailor near you. 

Small Repairs

While a tailor can help with garment repairs, many small fixes such as a missing button or seam rip can be easily mended at home with a sewing kit. We include extra trims with all of our garments, where applicable. 

Get Creative

Personalise garments that seem beyond repair by getting creative – old fabric can be used as gift wrap, retro patches can cover up denim tears, or damaged knitwear can be worn over the shoulders as a scarf.

Filippa K Preowned is our online marketplace in Sweden where you can sell and shop second hand Filippa K pieces. List your garments for cash or store credit, or discover unique pieces from past and current seasons.

Donate

Filippa K Collect program has been in place since 2015, taking back garments to give them a second life and ensure they are taken care of responsibly. Garments that are fit for resale are donated to our local partners, and garments that are not in a condition to be reworn are sent to textile recycling.

9. THE FIBER TRACEABILITY INITIATIVE

The Fiber Traceability Initiative is an industry-wide collaboration introducing a QR code traceability solution based on global, competition-neutral standards. 

This will result in a proof of concept, enabling full supply chain traceability from sheep on farms to finished garments. By placing a QR code inside the garment, everyone involved from brands to consumers will be able to access a comprehensive view of the product's journey from its origin to the shelf.
